Excelsior Elementary's 2019 Read-A-Thon

Have you ever wanted to pet a boa constrictor?  Or dive into the ocean via virtual reality goggles?  Or hone your engineering skills constructing a Rube Goldberg machine?  What happens when an egg is dropped off of the ladder of a firetruck using the protective casing you created?  These and MANY more opportunities afforded Excelsior students are a direct result of the funds raised during our annual Read-A-Thon.

Heading into our 5th year, this year's "Tri-Wizard Tournament of Text" Harry Potter themed Read-A-Thon will bring students together with family and friends to encourage reading, build literacy skills and raise funds for Excelsior PTC enrichment programs.

Our school wide goal is to read a combined 150,000+ minutes over 14 days and raise $35,000.

Beginning on September 16th and running through September 30th, students will record all of the minutes they read with a goal to reach 1,300 minutes and raise $150 each.

On September 16th, all parents/guardians who have made their email address accessible to the Excelsior PTC will receive an email that contains a link to their students personal and private fundraising page.  Through that webpage, family and friends can support their superhero reader by pledging to donate for the minutes their student reads.

Because of generous corporate sponsorship of our Read-A-Thon, the cost to administer this fundraiser ... and more ... are covered.  This means that 100% of the money donated by friends and family during Read-A-Thon directly benefit all Excelsior students THIS YEAR!  Please help us further show appreciation to these businesses by allowing them the opportunity to earn your business.
